The Political season is in full force. Sides are lining up, the voices are rising and the emotions are boiling. So, just for fun, let’s do some comparisons, shall we? Let’s look at the top 3 reasons that Pilates can be synonymous with politics.
- Politics AND Pilates are addicting. Yes. This is absolutely true. But you can expect different results here. While watching politics can suck you in and never spit you out, the result you can expect without fail is a frustration laden headache and probably increased blood pressure. Not to mention a side order of sedentary couch sitting isn’t really a prescription for health and wellness. Pilates is also quite addicting, but you can expect your abs to warm up, not your emotions…and the side effect of addicting Pilates is, flexibility, strength and improved balance, with a side dish of sexiness staring back at you in the mirror.
- Politicians are often misunderstood – Pilates Too! If you’re a Pilates instructor, at some point you’ve told someone what you do for a living and you’ve gotten the answer, “Oh, so it’s like Yoga.” Which in essence is kind of true, but yet totally not true simultaneously. The subtle difference here is that Politicians will TELL everyone they are misunderstood, but usually they are politically spinning when they say this.
- Politics Can Impact your Relationships with Friends and Family. Yes…this is absolutely true for both Politics and Pilates but the “Impact” will be completely opposite of each other, chances are and you know where I’m going with this, mention your political stance or affiliation at your own risk! This has become more apparent in each election and 2016 is no different. If you do Pilates a couple of days a week, chances are your relationships will improve as your disposition, posture and attitude improve. So #3 was kind of a trick.
So that’s it in a nutshell. Politics and Pilates. You heard it here first. Pilates Sports Center, bringing the community excellent Pilates, fantastic Pilates Education and a side dish of humor. Enjoy your week!
